TCL Communication Announces Shipment Figures of

Handsets and Other Products for August

A Series of New Smart Devices Debuted and Shined at IFA Berlin

(Hong Kong, 7 September 2016) - TCL Communication Technology Holdings Limited (“TCL Communication” or the “Company” which, together with its subsidiaries and its affiliates, is referred to as the “Group”; HKSE stock code: 2618) today announced the unaudited figures for shipments of handsets and other products in August and the first eight months of 2016.

The Group’s total sales volume of handsets and other products totalled 5,666,000  units in August 2016. Sales volume of handsets and other products in overseas markets totalled 5,379,000 units, while shipments in China market totalled 287,000 units. Sales volume of smart devices totalled 3,312,000  units, and accounted for 58% of the Group’s total shipment for the month. For the first eight months of 2016, the cumulative sales volume of handsets and other products totalled 44,238,000 units, while the cumulative sales volume of smart devices totalled 23,682,000 units.

One of the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics, IFA Berlin kicked off on 2 September, 2016. A series of new smart devices were launched under the Group’s Alcatel brand, including smartphones, tablets, wearables and Virtual Reality (VR) products, drawing extensive attention from the market and consumers. During the show, the Group launched its first mobile VR device VISION and 360° camera Alcatel 360, making Alcatel the first global smartphone brand to bring all-in-one VR experience to home entertainment users. VISON is an all-in-one wireless mobile device with 17ms latency, the lowest available in the industry, and 120° field of vision. VISON is not tethered to smartphone or computer, and is comfortable to wear, allowing users to move naturally while exploring VR environments. Furthermore, Alcatel 360 can simply be plugged into the micro USB port of smart devices to enjoy just plug & play to create & share functions, providing more convenience to users for sharing on the social platforms. The Group is also excited to partner with 360fly, ALLie Camera, Arashi Vision and Primesom, further embracing the 360° camera industry. In addition, SHINE LITE comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display and premium design, meeting the needs of the millennial generation who looks for smart devices at a competitive price; the brand new lightweight XL smartphone and tablet series POP 4 supports ultra-fast 4G LTE connectivity and is available in three different sizes, providing customers with more choices.

On the other hand, the MOVE series, a series of connected wearables was also being introduced at the show. The new series comprises of MOVEBAND, MOVETIME WIFI Watch, MOVETRACK and MOVE Track&Talk, which targets the needs of users at different ages and demonstrates the brand’s commitment in the development of wearables devices business. Meanwhile, the Group launched a new tablet member of the Xess series, Xess mini, under the TCL brand. Adhering to the features of Xess, the new tablet is equipped with a full HD touch screen, octacore processor and built-in stand. It also supports multi-window function, gesture and voice control, offering an enhanced experience for professional, home and recreational use.

In August, the TCL 750 Car Concert, co-organised by the Group and AA Car Rental, was held in Beijing. During the event, the Group joined hands with AA Car Rental to showcase Tesla and Audi-branded TCL 750 cars which made their debut in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The cars were equipped with TCL 750 smartphone demo stations at which literary songs co-produced by the Group and NetEase Cloud Music were preloaded. This cross-industry partnership has deepened the Group’s brand philosophy “Tout Comme La Vie” and provided consumers with better product and service experience.
